N.H. was driving home after starting a new job. N.H. had moved to a new state for a fresh start. This new job, was the beginning of his new life. While driving home, N.H. encountered construction on the highway. The construction crew, created an unsafe lane merger, which did not give drivers adequate time to merge into non-construction lanes. Before he could merge, N. H. tragically drove into the back of a dump truck that was in the driving lanes, without any lights on. The dump truck driver had improperly driven out of the construction lanes, and into regular traffic, with no lights. To make matters worse, the dump truck driver was driving under the influence of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the active ingredient in marijuana, at the time of the accident. After our initial research, and investigation, we learned that the dump truck driver should have never been on the road. His company had many documented driver infractions, and never should have been allowed to work on the project. The parties agreed to mediate, prior to filing suit. Our clients agreed to a seven figure settlement.
