J.C.’s mom hired Temani Adams after his previous attorney failed to perform. J.C.’s mom was concerned. This was his first offense, and she knew that it was imperative that they hire someone that felt comfortable taking the case to trial. After being hired, Temani immediately contacted the prosecutor to obtain the evidence. After reviewing the evidence, Temani knew that the prosecution could not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. At each court setting, Temani was prepared, however, the prosecution was not. The prosecutor offered a plea deal of two (2) years of deferred probation. Temani set the case for trial. Temani knew that the prosecutor hadn’t reviewed the case, despite making a plea offer. One afternoon, while preparing for trial, Temani received an email from the prosecutor, stating that after finally reviewing the evidence, they were dismissing the case.
